  • Director of UK Accounts at IDG
  • United Kingdom

A good leader takes a little more than his share of the blame, a little less than his share of the credit.

As a record-breaking mountaineer, Jake has conquered some of Earth’s biggest challenges, and uses his experience to help professionals from early careers to senior leaders develop effective leadership and team behaviours.

Amongst his many achievements, Jake was the youngest Briton to climb Mount Everest and the youngest man in the world to complete the Seven Summits, and in 2018 he became only the 10th Briton to climb K2. He was awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) by the Queen in 2020 for his services to Mountaineering, Charity and Young People.

Since joining IDG in 2010, Jake has worked with clients in an impressive range of industries, from international finance and energy companies to sports teams and emergency services. He also sits on IDG’s board and contributes to our growth strategy.

He combines his experience with expertise in psychometric assessment to get the best out of the teams he works with. Qualified to use tools including the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI 2.0), Strengthscope, and DiSC, he helps clients uncover and act on powerful insights into their personalities and behaviours.

Jake is a commissioned officer in the British Army Reserve, and served on operations in Afghanistan. None of the above, however, is as tiring or rewarding as running around after his three daughters.

IDG and CLP are collaborating closely, sharing knowledge and resources to best serve our clients.
