Ed guides our teams and clients in the Middle East towards success. He joined IDG in 2021 with more than a decade’s worth of experience developing businesses, managing teams, and delivering exceptional services in that part of the world.
In his previous role as a partner at a world-leading risk management consultancy, Ed led teams to deliver projects that grew the business in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Oman, Egypt, and Qatar.
Ed was trained in leadership at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned into the Royal Green Jackets, where he spent the next seven years leading teams in a variety of tactical, operational, and strategic roles in conflict zones around the world. He holds a master’s degree in applied economics from the University of St Andrews, where he also studied management, international relations, philosophy, and French.
In his spare time, Ed likes to keep fit and enjoys scuba diving, skiing, golf, squash, tennis, and basketball. He’s also a fan of classic cars, cinema, live concerts, astrophysics, and is occasionally allowed to play the drums.
